Rathinam College’s Rathinavani Community Radio 90.8 Honored by All India World Record Virtual University
Coimbatore, March 28, 2025 – Rathinam Arts and Science College has made history with its Rathinavani Community Radio 90.8 achieving a prestigious All India World Record. The record-setting attempt took place on September 3, 2024, in collaboration with the Departments of Visual Communication, Costume & Fashion Design, and English. This groundbreaking initiative was officially recognized by the All India Book of Records and the All India World Record Virtual University, with the honor being presented during the College Day Celebration on March 28, 2025.
As part of this remarkable achievement, three major events were conducted simultaneously over a 24-hour period:
1. 100 Short Films Screening – A showcase of socially impactful short films to raise awareness on critical issues.
2. Handloom Fashion Show – A spectacular runway featuring over 120 models highlighting the beauty and craftsmanship of handloom textiles.
3. Continuous English Poetry Recital – A literary celebration with participation from over 60 individuals reciting poetry non-stop.
The successful execution of these events earned Rathinavani Community Radio an official world record, marking a significant milestone in the fields of cultural and educational initiatives.
During the certification ceremony, key contributors were honored for their efforts, including Dr. J. Mahendran, Director of Rathinavani Community Radio; Mr. V. Sathishanandan, Head of the Visual Communication Department; Ms. A. Dhanvi, Head of the Costume & Fashion Design Department; Ms. Saradha, Head of the English Department; and Mr. T.J. Raju, Dean of Student Affairs. The certificates were presented by Mr. S. Venkatesan, Founder of All India Book of Records, and Ms. Kalaivani, Secretary of the organization.
The event was graced by the CEO and Secretary of Rathinam Group of Institutions, Dr. R. Manickam; Principal of Rathinam Arts and Science College, Dr.Balasubramaniam; Vice Principal, Dr. S.N. Suresh; Dr. S. Dinakaran, COE; Administration Officer, A. Bominathan; and Research Dean, Dr.Sabareesan, as special guests. Professors, students, and more than a thousand attendees participated in and organized the celebration.
