T20 CRICKET VICTORY REGIONAL LEVEL MATCH IN COIMBATORE

Rathinam College emerged victorious in the regional level T20 cricket tournament organized by News 7 Tamil Sports in Coimbatore. The college defeated Sukuna Engineering College in a thrilling match, winning by six wickets. This match was held in 29th March 2023. The tournament was part of the NCL 2023 Zonal T20 Cricket Series, which was held all over Tamil Nadu and divided into four zones.
The Coimbatore zone featured several talented teams, including Sri Ramakrishna College, Bannari Amman College, Sri Krishna Educational Group, Karpagam Academy Higher Education, Rathinam College of Arts & Science, Sukuna College of Engineering, JCT College of Engineering, and PA College of Engineering. The group stage of the tournament was intense, with each team for a spot in the semi-finals.
Sri Ramakrishna College emerged as the top team in the Coimbatore zone, winning all three of their matches and finishing with a net run rate of 5.133. Bannari Amman College finished second in the group with four points, while Sri Krishna Educational Group and Karpagam Academy Higher Education finished third and fourth, respectively. In the other group, Rathinam College of Arts & Science emerged as the top team, winning all three of their matches and finishing with a net run rate of 2.902. Sukuna College of Engineering finished second in the group with four points, while JCT College of Engineering and PA College of Engineering finished third and fourth, respectively.
The semi-finals saw Rathinam College of Arts & Science take on Bannari Amman College, while Sukuna College of Engineering faced off against Sri Ramakrishna College. Rathinam College of Arts & Science won their match comfortably, chasing down Bannari Amman College’s total of 135 with eight balls to spare. Sukuna College of Engineering also won their match, defeating Sri Ramakrishna College by six wickets. The final between Rathinam College of Arts & Science and Sukuna College of Engineering was a closely contested match. Sukuna College of Engineering won the toss and elected to bat, but were restricted to a total of 152 for 9 in their 20 overs. Rathinam College of Arts & Science chased down the target with six wickets in hand, thanks to a brilliant innings from their opener who scored 63 runs.
Rathinam College of Arts & Science emerged as the champions of
the Coimbatore zone and will now progress to the next stage
of the tournament.
