Discussion between
different groups of participants on the sixth day of faculty enhancement workshop
Segaon, observing Mahatma Gandhi Fuji Guruji Social Work Study Center and the
National Institute of National Institute of Rural Studies, Hyderabad, on the sixth
day of the Faculty Promotion Workshop in the sixth-day rural participation of
Gandhi Ashram An educational tour of the village was organized and a visit to a
rural village of Sevagram and faculties of various groups stated to collect
information about the village based on the topic given to each team such as on
Education, Culture, Agriculture, Employment etc, were discussed to the
villagers.
The session started on Saturday after the meal. At the beginning of the
session, Dr. Mithilesh Kumar presented a brief outline of the remaining
program. After that, the NCRI's D.N. Das invited two remaining groups to
discuss. The group discussion team discussed agriculture, farming and
education. The discussion started by Dr. Mukesh Kumar. In the discussion Dr. Debashish
Mitra briefly discussed the history of rural agricultural economy. He said that
agriculture is very diverse in India because agriculture cannot have any
uniform course in India. There is also considerable variation in the
geographical situation of all states.
At the same time Dr. Parthasarathy Mallik, a member of this group said in the
discussion that the majority of the rural community is dependent on
agriculture. The situation of agriculture in the rural areas has remained
dirty. Today's economy is no longer based on agriculture. People are fleeing
from the village. People of the village want electricity today, want education,
health needs. Referring to the famous Mardha Accounting Model Village in
Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, he said that despite everything, there was
no system of education in that village and there was lack of awareness about
education. Government education system is very bad. There is no resource for
teaching their children in private educational institutions. There should be a
system of quality education in every village. There is a need to develop
village centric courses.
Dr. Debashish Mitra intervened in the discussion and said that it is difficult
to get the idealistic idea of education down on the ground. Dr. Parthasarathi
Mallik also discussed Gandhi's basic training. Dr. Mukesh Kumar highlighted the
principles and behavior of the development of the basic development of the
heart, hand and mind of Gandhi. Investigator Naresh Gautam said that today 'One
India One Plan' is being tried. While the distribution of land is very uneven
in different states of India, the majority of the land is still in its hand,
whereas most people are farm laborers.
The Group agreed that agriculture centric courses should be created. The group
said with clarity that there cannot be any course focused on agriculture for
whole of India, only care should be developed and fixed, keeping in view the
diversity of agriculture, geographical differences etc. After the presentation
of the group discussion team, participants present their suggestions. At the
end of the discussion, the DNC of NCRI Das also kept his words.
CM Fellows Atul A., an experiment in the Loni village of Devli block in Wardha
district of Maharashtra. Raut presented it He said that under the Village
Conversion Campaign, the Maharashtra government is identifying and implementing
1000 villages of the state and developing it. At present, 350 CM Fellows have
been restored for work in 450 villages. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility
of 9 major corporate houses, this work is being financially supported. He said
that the State Government has given us the responsibility to make a plan and
implement it together. He made detailed discussions about the scheme of
community health related to the village. He also extended elaborate light on
the works being carried out in the villages, arranging the library, in the
development of agriculture etc. in the neighborhood.
NCR's D.N. Das presented important suggestions for making a part of the
curriculum to increase participation with the rural community. He insisted on
joining the university students and teachers of the university and taking steps
to work among them. He also underlined the role of teachers and students in
better implementation of development schemes being run by the government while
connecting with the people of the village.
The end of the session formed for the role of social workers, the group
underlined the role of social workers, intellectuals and students through dramatic
presentation. This group, trying to bring an illiterate person in the face of
difficulties in everyday life, to bring the importance of education in a
sensitive way. It also portrayed the role of social workers, intellectuals and
students in creating awareness about education.
The group also
highlighted the importance of the dramatic presentation of the powerful medium
of education. This group was lead by Mr. T. Raju, Dr. Vijay Kumar Waghmare, Dr.
Bharat Khandagarh and Shyam Sharma. The team made a roll play scenario
representing various problems faced by a citizen who is lack of education and
